Job Description

The Reports Business Analyst (RBA) will serve as a liaison between the Client, Operations and Development teams to ensure the reporting solution is well-defined, meets the documented and agreed upon business requirements, and ensures proper implementation of the requested system changes in the areas related to financial transaction processing including, but not limited to operational metrics, key performance indicators, and financial reconciliation.

The successful applicant will gather, define and communicate business requirements for approved reporting system changes as well as dashboards and ad-hoc reports. The RBA provides the analysis necessary for the successful delivery and deployment of the reporting system changes, and depending on the changes required, may be directly involved in implementing the reporting system changes.

Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assists Operations team by attending and leading meetings related to the dashboards and reports within the reporting system
  • Collects quantitative and qualitative data from internal cross functional teams, supply chain organisations and external customers to complete analysis to generate reports and operational dashboards
  • Help operations and financial management business partners identify and document work flows, and prepare accurate and detailed requirement specification documents. Proactively works with business partners to help them frame their business needs.
  • Translate business requests into detailed system and software requirements.
  • Work with Development and Technical teams to efficiently troubleshoot reporting system problems.
  • Serve as the initial point of review for all submitted reporting system change requests, and communicates requested system changes to the change management team.
  • Readily comes up with solutions to problematic data which is not defined by a standard process.
  • Generates new, custom scripts, advanced SQL queries used to address ad-hoc operations and finance reporting needs, or to facilitate decision making
  • Communicates with counterparts in multiple global locations clearly and concisely.
  • Responsible for meeting tight turn around projects.
  • Work with the clients to define business processes, document, review, revise, and estimate, and prioritize requirements.
  • Work closely with quality assurance and test managers to validate test cases and test results against requirements.
  • Skills & Qualifications:

  • Three (3+) years in a Business Systems Analyst or equivalent role.
  • Bachelor Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems; or equivalent work experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following.
  • Industry experience in outsourced service sector for Local and Central Government clients (transportation related preferred.
  • Business Analyst Certification (CBAP, CCBA, CSBA).
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in business process mapping.
  • Experience with business intelligence applications (such as Ms PowerBI, Tableau, etc) creating and updating dashboards, or customized reports
  • A working knowledge of JAMA, JIRA, and the Microsoft suite of products including MS Project and Visio
  • Must be currently eligible to work for any employer in the United Kingdom
