Do you love helping children? Are you resilient, a team player and reliable? Do you want to have the autonomy to share your ideas to create fun, exciting and engaging activities for children with Social, Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) or Social, Emotional, Mental Health difficulties (SEMH)? We have a number of Children’s residential homes who are looking for caring individuals who enjoy working with young people, aged 12-18 and are keen to make a difference.

We are looking for creative, active and open-minded Support Workers, to join our family feel team. You must have a keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds and behaviours. We are looking for candidates who want to get involved, have their ideas heard, are confident being a parental figure and who are resilient, active and caring. Previous experience with young people who have a history of extreme patterns of behaviour is required and a Level 3 qualification in health and social care is preferred – or the desire to complete one that will be fully funded and supported is required.

Our homes offer a holistic model of care and education, which is designed to stabilise extreme patterns of behaviour and provide positive, enriching life experiences. Our aim is to help young people achieve their full potential and prepare them for future independence. Our homes are committed to this aim by working in partnership with relevant agencies, facilitating further education, training and employment opportunities. We make every effort to effectively engage and work with relevant persons involved in young people's care with the aim of ensuring that each young person's needs are met. We see a comprehensive, extensive, well-structured daily programme of adventurous activity as key in addressing problem behaviours and fostering a positive self-image and improving low self-esteem. Weekly house meetings are used to consult with the young people to plan the forthcoming week’s activities and menu planning.

The ideal candidate will provide consistency in supporting young people in their day-to-day lives, enhancing their life skills, creating fun, and engaging activities to do at the evenings and weekends and making sure, they are safe and secure in their surroundings.

The team within this home all work collaboratively to ensure the young people are supported and safeguarded, within and outside of their home.

The benefits of working for this school are:

  • Intensive training including a companywide induction, Funded NVQ 3 and buddy system
  • Enhanced DBS paid for
  • Defined career pathways with support to achieve your goals
  • Meals on shift, made with the young people
  • Access to shopping discounts, a wellbeing platform and a CPD online course account
  • Make a real difference to children
  • No day is the same so you will never be bored!
  • **please note that the base salary is £9.50 - £10.50 but with a £100 travel allowance a month paid, the hourly rate is actually £10.08 - £11.08. Travel allowance only paid if you travel 40-80 round trip miles to work.

If this sounds like the role for you, please apply now. For additional information, please contact our recruitment team at

We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to a fully Enhanced DBS.
