Reporting to the Head of Financial Systems, the Functional and Reporting Analyst will be a core member of the Enhanced Financial Transparency (EFT) project aimed at ultimately transforming financial accounting at the University. This project sits within a wider Finance Transformation Programme (FTP). A key aim of the first phase of the project is the design and development of the prototype of a new financial planning tool, to eventually replace existing tools over a number of future phases. This role will take the lead in providing the analytical and technical expertise in financial reporting that is required to develop the prototype.
The purpose of this role will be to work in the early stages with consultants on the design and development of the first prototype before assuming responsibility for the ongoing design, development and training of team members on the use of the tool. The role holder will be part of the Financial Systems Group, working within an agreed scope and timescales, and collaborating closely with the Head of Financial Planning and Budgeting, the Finance Manager and the Project Manager to shape future project strategy and plans. The role holder will have the experience and knowledge to carry out detailed analysis of a complex design in line with business requirements and to maximise the potential use of existing management information tools.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
