Publisher, Earth & Planetary Sciences (BB-0211C)

Found in: Neuvoo UK

This role involves managing and developing a portfolio of journal titles in the Earth and Planetary Sciences, and associated projects and activities. Specifically, the role requires working with journal teams on focused content acquisition; engagement with researchers and institutes to develop best-in-class products and services for them; editor pool expansion from key institutes; and improved visibility of our program amongst competition from both new and traditional journal providers. The publisher should be seen to be active in the market and knowledgeable about it; and will need to regularly keep in contact with their research community through careful relationship-building. Some overseas travel to meet customers will be required, though we also encourage adoption of a mix of communication channels to help to reduce our carbon footprint. In addition to self-managing a portfolio, the publisher will need to work closely with team members and other publishing colleagues in the business unit on collaborative projects. The publisher should be fluent in English, educated to at least degree standard, have strong communication skills, and ideally have some relevant experience in academic publishing or in scientific research. The role offered may also be at Associate Publisher level for good candidates who are new to publishing. The role is intended to be based at one of our key journal offices in UK (Oxford, London) or Netherlands (Amsterdam); and will report into the Publishing Director, Energy & Earth Journals, with a preferred start date from May 2021. Is this you? Please send your CV with a cover letter, detailing your motivation for applying and what you think you will bring to the role.
