Main Purpose:
To be responsible for the Co-Packing production process
To initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to the benefit of the customer and business
Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments to fulfil demand to customer requirements
To lead, motivate and inspire the Production team and consistently meet and improve on production and cost targets
Key Tasks:
Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement of the production processes
Set and monitor product standards in line with quality control programs – analyse production and quality control to detect and correct issues
Manage production budgets and implement cost control programs
Implement standard operating procedures for production operatives and ensure they are adhered to, reviewing performance on an ongoing basis
Develop Co-Packing Team to help drive sustainable growth by identifying training needs and motivating all members of the team
Work with the Co-Packing Planner to ensure that all executions can be fulfilled at a short, medium, and long-term horizon
Overseeing the production process, ensuring all Co-Packing executions are completed on time, in full and to customer satisfaction
Use the company systems and data to monitor output and shift performance
Carry out regular compliance audits and take corrective action
Apply techniques of Operational Excellence techniques for best practice
Work with operational teams to ensure KPI measures and targets for area are reported and are highly visible
Responsible for equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement
Skills Required:
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Health & Safety – IOSH Managing Safely (minimum)
Full UK Driving Licence
Experience of working in and managing a production environment
Have outstanding interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with a natural ability to inspire and motivate
Have a broad understanding of Lean production techniques
Experience of project management and understanding of the challenges found in a production environment
Outstanding organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
Ability to drive change and operational excellence
Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
High degree of self-motivation
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation
People management experience of a team of shop floor staff (50+)
Flexible and adaptable to change
Good understanding of budgets and cost control
Working knowledge of Quality and Standard Operating Procedures
Working knowledge of WMS / ERP systems
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
