Found in: Neuvoo UK

The Role

The Technology Product Owner manages the technology product roadmap, backlog and lifecycle for one or more products and the associated product development value-streams. It will be necessary to negotiate, manage and agree demand into the practice for these products and manage the finance and operational governance to develop and launch the technology product/feature.

You will work closely with LoB Product Managers, practice leads, vendors, technology and operations teams to build the technology backlog to inform and deliver the product/platform strategy and roadmap. This will require you to have a strong technology understanding for the products that are to be developed. You will also align and prioritise technology innovation and customer co-creation for the practice.

You will negotiate, manage and agree demand into the practice and manage the finance and operational governance alongside LPM and other stakeholders.

The product owner (responsible for the ‘how’) will engage with the Product Architect, Service Design, Delivery and Operational teams to ensure clarity in the asks and support the respective teams in delivering the desired business outcome. You will help the LOB product manager (accountable for the ‘what’) to build the product roadmap, advising mandatory technology/operational capabilities, progressing impact assessments and agreeing on behalf of the practice that the final prioritised roadmap is viable from a technology, cost and delivery perspective.

You will input to the creation of product capability requirements for developments working jointly with the LOB product manager who leads this. You will then translate these into lower-level product/platform/operating model feature requirements ensuring these are underpinned by an E2E technical architecture (inc user journeys and service models) working with other roles in Technology (e.g architects and squad leads)

You will be responsible for in-life technology product ownership activities encompassing the product features/functionality, E2E product operating model and ensuring any issues/challenges and associated asks are suitably prioritised in Product Backlogs to be addressed through product/service enhancement activities.

  • Lead on the technology planning process for the technology product. Confirm mandatory technical debt, enablers and KTLO to go onto the plan along with recommendations e.g. security & data privacy, technology insights and vendor roadmap.
  • Progress new demands into impact assessment working with LPM. Agree on behalf of the practice that the LoB prioritised roadmap is viable from a technology, delivery and cost perspective.
  • Manage the output and budgets through governance agreeing EPICs, capabilities and sequence these into NPD.
  • Align, and prioritise, new technology innovation work taking inputs from the LoB Product Manager. Also look to bring co-creation into technology innovation and product development. The product manager will help to align such requirements with the customers/markets/channels.
  • Own each of the Product backlogs, being responsible for managing the relationship with Product Managers, operational teams, key stakeholders and their priorities, and coordinate the translation of these onto the development teams
  • Input to the creation of Product capability requirements with the Product Manager.
  • Translate the product capability requirements into buildable, feature level requirements working with the squad leaders and architects to feed into the design/dev/eng teams)
  • Manage local market integration and interface for product developments. Ensure that the technical specifications to be built align to local product/technology needs, share and interlock the technology plans, capture, cost SLA and vendor requirements
  • Undertake in-life technology management (inc service and systems)
  • Inputs to create product collateral (Service specs, SLAs, training)
  • Ensure that new technology/vendor selection decisions meet the product requirements including features, unit costs, service models, CX, SLAs, roadmaps
