An established, niche and successful manufacturing company is now recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Officer on a full-time, permanent basis, based in Belfast. Having traded for over 60 years this company is an expert in their field, offers state of the art facilities across ten locations and now due to growth in the H&S Team they have an additional requirement for an experienced H&S professional.
Your new role
The Health & Safety Officer will report to the SHEQ & Operations Support Manager and be responsible for health & safety related issues across all 10 sites. You will manage and maintain health & safety records, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and the completion of site audits. The Health & Safety Officer will support the business in maintaining ISO9001 & ISO14001 accreditation at 3 sites (Belfast, Portadown and Dublin). You will assist with accident investigations, near miss reports and implement corrective actions. The Health & Safety Officer will assist with emergency procedures, such as; fire drills, fire extinguishers inspections, spill management and first aid. Further to the above the Health & Safety Officer will complete relevant H&S admin tasks for the department as required. Working pattern is Mon – Fri from 8am to 5pm.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role of Health & Safety Officer you will be degree educated in a relevant Health, Safety or Environmental discipline, you will be NEBOSH certified and it is essential for you to have at least 2 years’ previous experience working in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment. You must have a good working knowledge of completing risk assessments within a heavy plant and machinery industry. This role will include frequent across NI & ROI therefore you must have a full clean driving licence (transport will be provided).
