We are recruiting for a Site Accountant to join our senior management team based at our site in Tram Inn, just outside Hereford.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of working within a senior reporting and analytical capacity, who is able to review and provide commentary to improve decision making and mill performance.
This role would suit someone who looks to deliver solutions to issues. Doesn’t see problems and issues as blockers, but sees them as challenges to proactively solve, and ensure deadlines continue to be met.

Purpose of the Role
As an integral part of the Senior Management team you will provide accurate and meaningful financial reporting and analysis for the site whilst acting as business partner to the Site Manager and Leadership team, in managing, developing and driving the site forward. Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading preparation and completion of the period end financial results for the Milling Operations.
  • Bridging monthly and weekly results against budget and forecast with commentary.
  • Producing periodic forecasting with clear understand and movement of what is driving results.
  • Ensuring site standards are maintained and kept up to date and reviewed on a periodic basis, and the foundation of all site forecasting and reporting.
  • Working with Mills management to understand base trends for cost and agree realistic target objectives.
  • Overseeing the collation of Milling Financial KPIs.
  • Continuing to drive best practice in financial control and documentation to strengthen internal control.
  • Leading, managing and coaching the Assistant Management Accountant to ensure their long term development.
  • Working closely with the Mills Finance Business Partner to understand how the Mills impact the wider business.
  • What we are looking for:
  • CIMA or ACCA qualifications
  • IT literacy with advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and basic macros)
  • Able to apply accounting theory in appropriate business context
  • Ability to adapt to an ever changing work priorities with a large and varied workload
  • Confidence with articulating complex issues with clarity and conviction, persuading others where appropriate
  • The ability to build relationships easily with all key functions in organisation
  • Someone who can work effectively in a matrix structure recognising responsibility to both Group and location and able to strike appropriate balance between the two
  • Ability to absorb and apply new concepts, adding value to other people’s ideas
  • Experience Continuous improvement methodology, challenge current working practices
  • Confidence presenting finding and ideas to peers.
