Job Description

Reporting to the lead architect you will be involved with the following project related tasks:

  • Liaise with the client, project end-user and other construction professionals regarding feasibility of projects including planning constraints, environmental impact and project budget
  • Liaise with equipment specialists and process engineers to develop schedule of functional areas
  • Advise on the relationships and process flow between functional areas
  • Assist in the development of conceptual layouts to incorporate all functional requirements
  • Assist project team in assessing and selecting options for further development
  • Produce personnel, material and equipment flow diagrams for the proposed layouts
  • Production of detailed design drawings and documentation for tendering and construction
  • Liaise with all disciplines to ensure co-ordination of the design
  • Carry out design risk assessments and provide documentation as required by CDM regulations
  • Respond to technical queries from the construction management team as required
  • Report to lead architect with updates on progress of deliverables for all project stages
  • Assist lead architect with level of resources required to complete project work within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Provide lead architect with progress of work reporting to ensure achievement of deadlines within man-hour allocations
  • Candidate Specification

  • Project experience including industrial and commercial
  • Experience in Power and Nuclear projects advantageous but not essential
  • Working experience of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance standards, CDM regulations and NBS
  • AutoCAD and Revit proficient user
  • Good all-round general practice skills and good knowledge of working within RIBA Plan of Work Stages 0-7
  • First-rate understanding of construction techniques and current Building Regulations
  • Amiable teamwork approach and effective communications skills
  • Thorough and organised working method
  • Problem solving and professional attitude
  • Ideally RIBA chartered or ARB Registered
