Your new role
In this role you will help people who are homeless to find a home, support them to build their skills and confidence so they can live independently. You'll work across 4 hostels in Weston-s-Mare, supporting a caseload of up to 10 customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Support the customer to develop their own Support Plan and support them to meet the objectives of their plan and move onto independent accommodation
  • Proactively involve customers in risk assessments and sign ups before inducting them into the accommodation
  • Get to know the customers strengths and interests and work with them to link with local community, researching appropriate activities and including the customer in the decision-making process.
  • Support customers in learning and developing budgeting skills and monitor and ensure all rent actions, letters and monitoring systems are up to date
  • Work alongside colleagues and customers to understand the triggers that might cause breaches of tenancy or license agreements and support the client to make proactive and positive changes to improve self-care and resilience

  • What you'll need to succeed

    The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a supported housing role with homelessness, mental health needs and/or alcohol and drug use. You’ll understand the benefits and have experience of support planning, risk assessments and working with vulnerable people to build their life skills so they can achieve their personal goals. You’ll be self-motivated and be able to speak to people with care and respect, along with the ability to keep accurate and up to date records.
    What you'll get in return
    This is a temporary contract for 6-8 weeks but may have the possibility of extension. You'll be joining a supportive team, with great management and will have the opportunity for some flexible working.
    Having a clean, Enhanced DBS on the Update Service would be valid but if not, we will cover the cost of a new DBS for you.
