Contract type: Employee, Fixed Term Contract – One year and 9 months (up to end of 2022)

The purpose of the role: On a temporary basis, deliver Procurement and Vendor Relations services in defined areas in Valmet UK together with Services Operations, Valmet global sourcing team, Markets, Engineering, Quality and Business Units
Main Responsibilities:
1. To carry out Services procurement process
Ensure that procurement will be executed by following-up Global Valmet requirements for goods and supply in terms of quality, price and availability
Execute the procurement for named business segments
Creation of appropriate agreements and pricelist with selected vendors as deemed appropriate in co-operation of Procurement Specialist
Ensure implementation the usage of the selected vendors as guided
Follow-up the issued purchase orders for cost, delivery time and quality
Actively ensure that favorable price development will continue, and Valmet will have knowledge of true market price and Valmet’s position as a buyer within the market
Improving internal and external visibility of UK and EMEA procurement
Handle supplier invoices and supplier master data as per needed
2. Vendor management
Follow-up of vendors’ performance against set targets
Maintain existing and possible new vendors’ relations
Vendor training for new processes and tools as required
Manage corrective action process with vendors according to Valmet Policy
3. To guarantee supply network performance
Provide on-going support for existing parts throughout the supply process
Arrangement needed logistical set-ups for lean logistics flow.
To maintain and follow assigned KPI’s for purchasing
Ensure that set targets are met
The success in this role will be measured against following KPI’s
Cost reductions and savings
Volume of Purchases from cost competitive countries (CCC)
Supplier On-time delivery, availability, quality and lead-time for named vendors
Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, mechanical engineering background preferred
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) – or working towards
Expert in procurement with more than 3 years of sourcing experience preferable also w/ overseas suppliers
Familiar with metal processing (machining, casting, forging and fabrication) is a plus
Demonstrated skills at cost analysis
Demonstrated skills at supplier development
Fair knowledge of business processes
ERP and Normal MS Office applications.
Good communication and relationship management skills
