The Role:

St Giles community team are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing palliative care in the Community. We ask that you have experience in palliative care and/or the management of long term conditions.

As a team member you will contribute to a positive supportive working environment with an emphasis on team work. You will provide a face to face and telephone service for patients and their families, sharing clinical responsibility within a St. Giles geographical area.

We are seeking someone who is motivated, passionate and who can demonstrate evidence-based practice. You must have up to date clinical skills that are transferrable to the role, be flexible and be a person who wishes to commit to the delivery of an effective and efficient nursing service, whilst embracing our patient ethos that is ‘it’s your life and that is what matters’.

Specialising in the advisory component of this role you will have shared clinical responsibility for the patients on the caseload you hold.

Current NMC Registration, strong communication and team-working skills and an empathetic disposition are essential. You will have good I.T. skills and be organised in your approach to your workload.

Having a CQC rating of outstanding, St Giles Hospice is a registered charity providing high-quality medical and nursing care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as offering support for their families and helpers. Care is offered in a variety of ways according to the individual’s needs and are offered out in the community as well as from 3 sites, an inpatient unit at Whittington and day unit facilities at Sutton Coldfield and Uttoxeter.

We receive funding from the NHS but primarily we rely on fundraising activities and legacies, together with trading activities (22 Shops, Lottery and other trading) to support our work. We employ more than 350 people across a broad range of roles – from direct patient care to fundraising and administration as well as support from over 1400 volunteers to provide our services.
