Finance Business Partner - Hungry Horse (Maternity Cover)
Business Partner the Hungry Horse Business Unit Director providing insight, analysis and challenge to support decision making and to drive the profitability of the Business Unit. Leading the financial analysis of the investment in Hungry Horse, as well as supporting the wider Destination Food Brands FP&A process.
This exciting role is to cover for Maternity Leave from May 2021 onward, and as such is an ideal secondment or fixed term opportunity to gain experience of our Retail business.
Alignment to a Business Unit ('BU'), working closely with the Business Unit Director ('BUD'), providing insight, financial analysis and support.
Support will range from business performance analysis to cost control, with the ultimate aim of helping to deliver the BU P&L targets and drive profitability.
Experience the business by being out in trade regularly to understand implications of decisions and opportunities.
Reviewing and interrogating Project justifications during the Investment appraisal process, with recommendations for improvements as well as opportunities/threats highlighted.
Timely and insightful analysis with recommendations to key customers, ensuring informed business decisions are made.
Finance Lead for Hungry Horse leadership team on weekly and periodic performance reviews.
Provide support to the Financial Controller and Finance Director on ad-hoc analysis.
Review period accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness
Creation of P&L budgets / forecasts.
Provide support across the wider Managed Finance teams in the annual budget process
Other ad hoc duties as required.
Effective prioritisation and time management skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail.
Naturally enquiring mind with the ability to provide clear, concise analyses and recommendations.
Proactive, "can do" attitude - see tasks and projects through to completion and full implementation.
Excellent communication skills, with a natural ability to explain and present financial data in simple ways.
Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels within the business.
Confident in challenging non-finance colleagues based on a combination of robust analysis/insight and experience.
Experience in commercially facing finance roles, preferably in retail businesses would be beneficial.
Previous experience in period end reviews desired.
The ideal candidate will have a formal accountancy (full or part qualified) from a recognised accountancy body.
Expert user in Excel and Cognos 10 would be beneficial
