SEMH Teaching Assistant - Stockport


Are you committed to providing support to pupils with additional needs? We are searching for a patient, empathetic and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with children diagnosed with SEMH.

Tradewind are recruiting for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream Primary school central to Stockport.

The position is full-time, and as the child is new to the school you would be working closely with the SENDCo to create a strong routine and developing the role as you go.

Specialist experience would be required for this reason, and having Team Teach training would be a bonus. Tradewind offer above-market rates of pay, with the daily rate in the region of £75 - £90 per day.


Your duties might include:

  • Supporting and managing a pupil with special educational needs, usually on a 1:1 basis
  • Taking responsibility for the safeguarding of the young people in your care
  • Supporting the school team to provide a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for students to learn
