Your New Role?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Fabric Operative to join our Northampton Schools account. This role is on-site based.


The salary is £25,000 per annum


Amey delivers facilities and estate management services to the Northampton Schools Private Finance Initiative across an estate of 42 schools (five secondary and 37 primary).

We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.


The standard hours of work are
40 Hours Per Week

You will be responsible for:


  • Successful applicant will work in a sector of 43 schools on Northampton account
  • General building fabric maintenance and repair to include: basic plumbing carpentry basic plumbing plasterboard repairs painting.
  • Carry out scheduled building fabric PPM.
  • Day to day reactive joinery/fabric repairs raised on our Helpdesk.
  • General joinery work.
  • Suspended ceiling repair and replacement.
  • Minor wall filling and painting repairs

We want to hear from you if you have:
  • Fabric/joinery
  • based skills
  • Strong technical skills in Hard/Fabric FM.
  • Time served joiner or equivalent experience
  • Required technical skills within joinery/carpentry
  • Previous FM maintenance industry experience desirable
  • A basic knowledge of other trades plumbing, plastering, and painting would be an advantage
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills for programming and managing works and services.
  • This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
