The Growth Company's (GC) Finance team have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Compliance Officer you will report directly to the Head of Compliance you will support business growth of our business through maintaining and developing the Company's internal and regulatory compliance programs, policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure the company adheres to the requirements of all applicable laws and regulations, industry standards, and risk management practices.

Role is remote, but you will be required to be in the office in Manchester as and when needed for meetings.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform risk/compliance assessments to understand risk level, significance, and scope.
  • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor compliance across the business with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist in the ongoing education of employees of regulations, and the impact of noncompliance on the organisation.
  • Investigate irregularities and noncompliance issues.
  • Ensure that findings are recorded and followed up with management so that issues can be rectified.
  • Report back to business functions on current risk and compliance performance, highlighting or escalating areas of concern.
  • Perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation and maintenance of ongoing administrative/compliance projects).

Skills Required:


  • Previous experience in a compliance role within financial services.
  • Good knowledge of industry best risk management practice including FCA/OPBAS /ICO/PECR/ISO & regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and processes.
  • Able to oversee 3rd party outsourced providers.
  • AML CTF regulation knowledge would be beneficial.
  • GDPR data protection knowledge would be good.
  • Some knowledge of CCA 1974 regulations would be beneficial.
