Seven Medical are looking for a full time Hospital Director in the market town of Croydon, known for its market and great places to eat.


Job Purpose:

  • 1. The Hospital Director is the most Senior Managerial role in the hospital reports to the Group Operations Director and is accountable to the Inmind directors and the Inmind Board;
  • The Hospital Director is responsible for ensuring the Hospital provides safe care to all patients in their care and meets all regulatory and performance targets and develops effective strategies to support targets and delivery of agreed objectives;
  • The Hospital Director is responsible for the overall performance of the hospital and will develop strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objective and priorities established by the Board.
  • The Hospital Director is responsible for ensuring The Inmind Board, receives accurate and timely data which has been analysed and triangulated along with a clear demonstration of any necessary actions to enhance performance;
  • The Hospital Director is responsible for formulating and successfully implementing an annual business plan;
  • The Hospital Director is responsible for directing strategy towards the profitable growth, for effectively managing the finances and working with the Inmind Board and to agree the relevant annual budget;
  • The Hospital Director will put in place and ensure robust operational and financial controls are in place, monitored and performance driven;
  • The Hospital Director will ensure that all clinical and operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by the management and other employees;
  • The Hospital Director will ensure robust performance monitoring is in place against financial and quality results and take remedial action where necessary, keeping the Operations Director directly informed;
  • The Hospital Director will assume full accountability to The Inmind Board for all hospital operations;
  • The Hospital Director will represent the company to major customers and professional associates and ensure all staff behave and perform in a professional manner at all times, taking necessary action where performance fails;
  • The Hospital Director will build a strong management team to facilitate and ensure delivery of the business objectives.
  • The Hospital Director will ensure all staff are aware of statutory and regulatory requirements, including the Care Act, including and not least, 'fit and proper persons' requirement on Health and Safety and related national policy
  • Manage the financialbusiness of the hospital, ensuring effective financial management and business planning.

Key Result Areas:

  • Manage the financial business of the hospital, ensuring effective financial management and business planning;
  • Demonstrate you maintain clinical expertise through engaging in clinical work for an agreed period each month;
  • Maintain own professional and personal development;
  • Ensure all staff have relevant individual personal development plans are in place for all clinical and managerial staff and that they are reviewed and updated routinely;
  • Ensure all staff meet the statutory and mandatory training requirements;
  • Development and direction of an effective management team to delivery all targets;
  • Develop and deliver a robust and evidence based, target driven clinical strategy;
  • Provide leadership to the Senior Management Team, ensuring efficient and effective work patterns and performance;
  • Ensure effective Governance processes are in place including, clinical governance, health and safety, risk management and risk registers, marketing, financial management and personnel management;
  • Ensure effective systems and processes are in place for all financial matters;
  • Where appropriate and necessary, liaise with and provide necessary information to relevant legal services;
  • Provide relevant reports and formal updates to Directors in a timely manner;
  • Draw matters of performance and financial concern to the attention of the Operations Director in a timely manner;
  • Ensure effective and robust audit trails are in place for all SUI's and complaints to comply with the requirements of 'Duty of Candour';
  • Demonstrate effective and efficient business outcomes for the hospital with annual profitability;
  • Direct senior staffs to ensure HR policies and procedures are effective in place and reviewed regularly.
