We have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice HSEW Advisor to join our TRU Account.

The salary is:
£20,942 per annum

Transpennie Amey is working in partnership with Network Rail on the Transpennie route upgrade project since 2018, with an increased focus on providing reliable, frequent, faster, and greener railways to the North of England.


Covering 76 miles of railway between Manchester, Leeds, York, Selby and onto Humberside, we lay the foundations, covering upgrades to civils, track, railway systems and electrification to the west of Leeds.


By completing such works, we aim to support Network Rail with cutting carbon emissions and ensuring to deliver a smoother, more enjoyable journey to their customers.


Your New Role:


From day one you'll be given real responsibility, gaining invaluable experience and exposure working alongside our industry experts and across your team.

As an Apprentice, you will be working alongside the team to deliver the following:


  • Providing advice & guidance to the operational teams to support the delivery of their activities in line with our HSEW requirements
  • Review risk assessments, procedures, and processes to help improve our standards in health, safety & environment.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents, providing reports and lessons learned to the business.
  • Growing the operational team's knowledge through training & sharing stories. Looking at innovative ways to embed health safety & environment into our business


As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a nationally recognised level 3 SHEQ apprenticeship qualification via our training partner.

Your Apprenticeship is fully supported through a combination of regular online lessons, e-learning materials, and access to their team of experts for 1-2-1 advice and support.

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will have opportunities to gain additional skills through Top Set Investigation Training, IOSH Training and online Health, Safety &Environmental courses.


Within Amey, you'll be partnered with a "buddy" to assist you as you settle into your new role within our HSEW team, helping answer all those initial questions you may have.


Once you've settled in, you will be allocated a mentor who will support you throughout your Apprenticeship, helping you develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.

When you complete your Apprenticeship, your development does not stop You'll be given lots of opportunities to progress further within Amey as well as being encouraged to gain additional qualifications as you continue your career.


What you will Bring:

We keep our list of essential requirements to a minimum, but there are a few things needed to qualify for our programme:


  • Minimum Qualifications are:
  • GCSEs x 5 (including English, Maths, Science)
  • Ability to write clearly and ability to analysis data
  • Ability to use Microsoft package
  • Available to commence employment with Amey in September 202
  • The commitment and drive to complete your Apprenticeship and final assessment
  • You will need to be DBS checked when joining
  • Driving license
  • Over 18 years old
