Scale 5, Spinal Column Point 14-19, £25,409 - £27,852


Working Arrangements:

36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, a flexitime scheme is in operation

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is currently recruiting for the post of Community Safety Advisor; the role of the post holder will be to help make Lancashire a safer community through promoting and advising on community fire safety and the wider determinants of health and well-being.


Applicants will be required to demonstrate an ability to support and communicate with vulnerable people living in the community, plus the ability to undertake a range of practical activities including the fitting of smoke detection and associated equipment.

It is also essential that applicants have a problem-solving approach to completing tasks and can work on their own initiative, as well as in a team environment.

Community Safety Advisors deliver training packages to diverse groups of people therefore, applicants must have the ability to present information to small and large groups.

Community Safety Advisors lead a range of activities and engagement programmes associated with reducing the risk.

A key part of the role will be leading the Fire Cadet unit based at Preston Fire Station with support from the rest of the Community Safety team and the Operational crews.

Applicants will be required to evidence working with young people and be prepared to work evenings and weekends as required.

A driving licence and the availability of a suitable vehicle for business use are also essential.

We anticipate interviews to take place on 11 September 2023.
