Description
ICT Consultant - This will be mostly remote working (from home), however there will be an expectation to attend Lewes (County Hall) to pick up equipment and complete Information Governance training on the first day and for project workshops (potentially 2-3 in the next 6 months)

6 months -possible extension

£400 - £500 per day UMBRELLA

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:


Key Tasks


Maintain expert level awareness of current and emerging technologies and best practice within the ICT industry, acting as prime point of escalation for colleagues to provide expert technical level professional information, guidance and advice to County Council managers and County Councillors and officers as appropriate.


Provide technical expert level knowledge to the delivery of programmes of work and the provision of a professional ICT service, frequently making decisions to ensure the achievement of departmental, service and personal performance targets including agreed key performance indicators.


Act as prime point of escalation for colleagues resolving complex ICT incidents, problems and service delivery issues in an appropriate and timely manner working flexibly, or outside of normal core hours as required, to meet service demands in accordance with County Council policies and procedures.


Review and monitor the effectiveness of ICT services, system, workloads and processes ensuring best value for stakeholders and customers, implementing improvements as agreed.

Establish effective working relationships with internal and external customers including service users, County Councillors, stakeholders and partnership organisations.


Represent the Department and Authority at internal and external meetings and events, preparing and presenting reports and presentations where necessary.


Contribute to the development of strategies, procedures, standards, business plans and continuity plans to ensure the team is able to meet future challenges and customer / stakeholder expectations with increased service efficiency and effectiveness.

Maintain paper and ICT based systems and records including computer systems for designated service area; accurately inputting, updating and retrieving data as required and ensuring that all system, personal and sensitive data is stored securely and confidentially

Undertake the commissioning and coordination of external agencies and contractors


Assist with mentoring, coaching and training colleagues in order to support learning and development objectives and priorities to meet service delivery standards.

Perform such other tasks as may reasonably be required by the line manager or service manager.


Core experience are as follows:

SAP (must have)

  • Demonstratable payroll experience within last 5 years (must have)

Understanding of payroll data workflow (must have)

  • Excel (must have to intermediate level or above)
  • Oracle (desirable)
  • Data Migration experience (desirable)
  • Public sector experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Jira (desirable)
  • Comfortable chairing payroll issue meetings (desirable)
