SHE Governance Lead (FT, PT, Jobshare)


Here's what you'll be doing:


Right now, we're looking for a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Governance Lead to join our SMART Field Connections team based at our Kingswinford site.

Here you'll support safe working practices and SHE regulatory compliance for energy metering and other low carbon solutions installations, spanning field and office environments and including contractor assurance.

You'll be responsible for maintaining the SHE management system, managing end to end business adherence and ensuring traceability to all activities completed within the business and by contracted parties.

Communication is a key part of this role, as you will be responsible for communicating relevant SHE management information throughout the business to both employees and contracted parties.


Key activities include

  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the business structure and activities within Smart Field Connections in order to provide expertise on matters relating to SHE.
  • Manage the SHE management system in line with ISO 45001 and any other relevant standards.
  • Perform regular audits and reviews of documentation to ensure compliance to legal requirements and those set out within the management system.
  • Establish key internal stakeholder relationships to keep informed of business changes, new processes, future plans and changes to ensure SHE is considered in implementation.
  • Manage the incident, investigation and risk platforms for Smart Field Connections. Utilise these systems to maintain accurate records, complete statistical analysis, and the production of monthly KPI packs relating to SHE data for Smart Field Connections and contracted parties.
  • Support the business with contractor selection and tendering for third party work where required.
  • Work closely with the SHE Lead Advisor to support the development and maintenance of risk assessments and method statements.
  • Lead three direct reports who support audit, incident data collection and analysis.

What we need from you:


Here's what you need to have

  • NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Previous proven experience of managing SHE management systems.
  • A detailed understanding of relevant current SHE legislation and standards.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to filter complex issues into a simple form.

It would be great if you had

  • Experience in gaining external accreditations for SHE management systems (for example ISO
  • Knowledge of current policies and procedures which affect the SHE management of the business including gas, electrical and asset safety standards.
  • Training, presentation, coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to provide new and creative solutions to problems whilst also challenging established thinking.
  • Proven ability to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.

  • The salary range for this role is £47,276 £60,36
