Arup's Acoustics, Audio Visual and Theatre Consultants (AAVT) practice specialises in a broad range of design and delivery of buildings in all sectors, with a particular interest in performing arts venues.
Equally, we are experts in environmental sound, noise and vibration, working with teams in buildings and infrastructure design, environmental impact assessment and planning.
We work closely with the colleagues in other Arup disciplines, following the Total Architecture philosophy to develop novel and optimised solutions which are both reliable and sustainable.
We also work with external teams, contributing our specialist skills to projects where other Arup disciplines may not be involved.

They will also be responsible for supporting the AAVT Leadership team with business development, including developing fee proposals; meeting with project teams and clients to develop opportunities; and presenting at external conferences and networking events.
Is This Role Right for You?
We are looking for people who can demonstrate some but not necessarily all of the following:
- Expertise in building acoustic design projects across a range (but not all) of the sectors in which Arup works, ideally including performing arts venues and including familiarity with building regulations.
- A good understanding and experience of groundborne vibration and its control.
- Experience of environmental impact and planning noise and vibration assessments, including planning requirements related to noise.
- Familiarity with using specialist acoustic modelling software such as Odeon, SoundPlan, NoiseMap and using GIS software.
