You'll be providing support and coordination to the public affairs and sustainability team so that we can manage issues, engage business partners, keep up to date the latest developments and proactively communicate our positions, including on our website.


Key accountabilities

  • Supporting the smooth running of the Public Affairs and Sustainable business teams, including running subteam meetings
  • Manage the public affairs issues tracker so it is up to date
  • Maintain our database of business partner mapping and help us to prioritise their engagement
  • Drafting correspondence to business partners on proactive and reactive issues
  • Maintain a database on current position statement on public policy and ESG issues
  • Support for briefing material for business partner meetings
  • Manage government consultations tracker and coordinate business partners across the business to input to sign off on position statements
  • Monitor political developments and provide timely updates to the team and relevant internal business partners
  • Support with campaign execution e.g sending materials to business partners, ad hoc events coordination.
  • Ensure our website content is up to date and is driving improvement in engagement metrics and targeted external rankings
  • Link with customer services on Environment, Social, Government (ESG) issues


There are opportunities to project manage ad hoc projects that require external business partners to provide input, and support teams by attending and debriefing on routine external meetings/briefings.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK politics and political system
  • Foundation understanding of ESG issues
  • Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Clear concise communication skills particularly written
  • Project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Digital skills particularly on website content creation
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with business partners
