What is the GFAR group responsible for?


This team provide core services for our UK and LUX domiciled funds; this includes oversight of the Administrator, audit, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting and board reporting.

You will also focus on providing outstanding client service to our Boards, Portfolio Management, Product and Sales stakeholders. The role will primarily focus on the oversight, accounting and administration for the Group's Investment Trust products.

  • What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Fund Administration & Oversight Consultant?
  • Support the production, oversight and review of semiannual and annual financial reporting for Investments Trusts and mutual funds, and other reporting documents, ensuring these are accurate and in accordance with regulatory (GAAP and IFRS) and client requirements.
  • Work closely with Administrators to plan and coordinate the production of reporting to ensure that regulatory and client (Board of Directors/Trustees/Audit committee) deadlines are met.
  • Analyse supporting schedules and reconciliations for the shareholder reports and for various regulatory filings for accuracy to ensure expected results.
  • Oversight of third party administrators including daily net assets value calculations, reporting prepared by the administrator and reviewing KPIs to ensure service delivered is of the highest standard.
  • Provide quality customer service to clients (e.g. fund managers, sales and marketing, performance and risk, internal and external boards).
  • Review of fund distribution calculations.
  • Research, analyse and make recommendations on new technical standards and regulations specific to Investment Trusts. Support team in drafting required reporting guidelines and Board memos.
  • Support new business and product launches (feasibility; operational capability, etc.).
  • Proactively identify potential improvements in work processes and client service, working closely with Senior Management to implement these.
  • Participate in departmental/divisional projects.
  • What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
  • Experience in reviewing financial reports and audit cycles within asset management/financial services industry.
  • Investment Trust prior experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting standards.
  • Understanding of daily net asset value calculations.
  • Prior experience of oversight of a thirdparty administrator preferred.
  • Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant preferred (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and an ability to communicate complex matters to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience of workflow automation tools considered favourably.
