Description

The postholder will be employed by the University of Reading and working in a small industrial team at Starlight Xpress Ltd (Bracknell, UK).

This position forms part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded by Innovate UK.

It is a 27-month fixed term contract based full-time at Starlight and provides the opportunity to develop a new set of camera software commands which can be used for the creation of a new range of advanced and highly technical cameras that can be adapted for different markets based on the bespoke requirements of customers.


Skill development through training


There is a £4,500 dedicated training budget tailored towards your own personal development in addition to residential management skills training.


About Starlight Xpress

You will have:


  • A good first degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics with significant programming.

Essential skills we require as a minimum:

  • Design and research skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Application and Embedded programming skills, including C++
  • The ability to create desktop and mobile apps
  • Good understanding of hardware and embedded systems
  • Demonstrate the desire and ability to lead on a commercial project with an understanding of the multidimensional nature of a KTP project
