About us
The Service sits within a Planning Department under a Head of Service that reports to the Director of Place.

Working in the Development Management team to progress and assist in the managing of the Development Management Team's enforcement case load, including the investigation of breaches of planning control, the monitoring of planning permissions and conditions, the preparation of Committee reports, preparation of evidence for Court cases and giving of evidence at Court as required.

Pay Details:
Grade 9, SCP 31-35, £37,261 to £41,496 Hours of Work /
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

About you

You will need:

  • Experience of working within Development Management.
  • Working knowledge of the planning system.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines and under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage a large workload.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant post graduate planning qualification.
  • Relevant post graduate planning qualification or eligible for/working towards Membership of the RTPI.
  • A commitment to high levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to good quality outcomes from the development control process.
  • Ability to deal with people in potentially difficult circumstances
  • Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate.
  • Computer literate and able to use a pc for letters and reports.
