The Opportunity
Reporting into the SVP of Global Operations, you will be responsible for running our newly combined Due Diligence function.

The new function consists of up-front KYB/EDD and ongoing monitoring and supervision of our customers to ensure that customers are operating in accordance with regulatory guidelines and within parameters authorised by Railsr.


You will be responsible for implementing a new framework and enhancing processes for all components of initial and ongoing due diligence of our customers based on feedback received from recent team reviews and audit findings.


The team is currently located across the UK and Lithuania therefore this will require you to build strong working relations across the regions as well as working closely with our Compliance function.


Your Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of Due Diligence professionals across the UK and Lithuania
  • Drive a culture of high engagement and motivation couple with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Enhance the existing KYB and EDD function based on feedback from recent audits and internal process reviews.
  • Deliver a new framework for ongoing due diligence of our customers which includes, data driven monitoring, sample testing, periodic reviews, website and financial promotion reviews, remediation plans and QA reviews.
  • Manage the Complaints Team to ensure it is effectively overseeing how our customers are managing complaints from their users and also to deal with direct or indirect complaints from external parties including the FOS.
  • Working with existing or new Regtech providers to both enhance and create more efficiencies across our processes
  • Define and implement our case management solution to ensure all KYC/EDD and supervision data is stored logically, appropriately and available for use during adhoc reviews.
  • Ensure our Customers have suitable oversight, and appropriate processes for dealing with Vulnerable Customers.
  • Assisting with data provision to aid regulatory reporting
  • Engaging with customers to rectify any issues identified during assurance reviews, or through escalations from within Railsr, and managing these through to completion
  • Work closely with the wider Risk and Regulatory Operations team and Compliance team as 'first line of defence in ensuring that risk is managed through adequate and efficient controls.

Your Profile

  • Skills & Experience_
  • You are an excellent people manager with min. 5 years of experience managing and developing due diligence or supervision teams
  • You understand what it takes to efficiently manage a "first line of defence" function from a regulatory and audit perspective. This includes improving and implementing robust control frameworks.
  • Proven experience in delivering change within a due diligence/supervision function
  • Good working knowledge of UK regulations (FCA)
  • Experience across first and second line risk and compliance due diligence/oversight functions, or in a regulatory audit role
  • Initiative and tenacity to investigate areas of concern / possible concern and provide robust challenge to customer responses where appropriate
  • Analytical skills, including ability to identify the root cause of risks and issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders of all levels
  • Experience of building strong relationships across a business
  • Experience of managing teams across locations
  • You know what strong operational performance and KPI reporting looks like. This means you make datadriven decisions and understand the balance between business, system and operational requirements
