If so, we may have your next role as we, Capital Talent Box at West London College are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join our Foundation Learning department in delivering an excellent service at the Hammersmith campus.


This is an ongoing temporary position throughout the academic year, offering between £11 and £15 per hour plus holiday pay.


Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • To provide learning and study skills support for the learner in class, either 1-1 or in small groups
  • To aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and provide support materials as required e.g. visual prompt cards, assistive technology etc. as needed and advised by the SENCo, teacher, Ed Psych, SALT or other agency as appropriate
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of learners' targets (or other learnerspecific plans)
  • Attend to learners' personal care needs, including social, health, hygiene, firstaid administration, medication administration and welfare matters, as well as assisting to and from classes as necessary and monitoring during breaks where appropriate
  • Use initiative to embed the support of development of independent study skills and literacy/numeracy skills in all classes
  • To support and implement travel assistance procedures, policies and duties
  • Assist learning support managers in liaising with parents, carers and professional staff (such as educational psychologists) in order to promote the learning objectives of each learner
  • Assisting learners during work experiences opportunities both in and out of the college

What do we need from you?

  • Maths and English to Level
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Demonstrable experience of the ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
  • Knowledge/awareness of Autism
  • Knowledge/awareness of challenging behaviours

£11.00-£15.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Gliddon Road Barons Court London, W14 9BL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
