An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Perinatal Clinical Lead role at Perinatal Perinatal Parent Infant Mental health Service which is a Trust wide service.

The role would cover the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest.

This post would suit someone who is an experienced practitioner in the field of mental health.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual with a strong interest in management and perinatal service development within the NHS Long Term Plan, alongside being a clinical lead within a well established perinatal service that is continually improving care for perinatal service users/ carers/families.


The post-holder will be working with pregnant service-users in the antenatal and post-natal period who present with complexity and significant levels of risk.

They will be working with the wider systems such as Mother and Baby Units, Maternity Services, Universal services, Childrens Social Care and Secondary mental health services (including family and carers, and working with patients who frequently present to crisis services)


The role would suit someone who is passionate about working within a Multi-disciplinary team in a leadership capacity, with an MDT consisting of Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrist, experienced psychotherapists, perinatal community mental health practitioners, occupational therapist, nursery nurses and excellent team secretaries/ administrators.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.

As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.

The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).
