FT Permanent (12-hour shift pattern)

4 Days on 4 Days off

We are now seeking a full time Operations Controller to join our experienced, friendly team based in Doncaster as a result of a recent internal promotion


Reporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, the role of Operations Controller is a crucial one within our organisation, having recently promoted from within the company, we are now seeking a suitable replacement who is passionate, responsive, hard-working individual who has a balanced approach to decision making, within the industrial regulatory constraints and is willing to work across a 24-hour shift pattern on a permanent basis.


The role will involve being able to facilitate the effective delivery of the Company's flying programme, including freight, VIP Charter and bespoke trial support aircraft, whilst considering safety, legal and commercial implications of your actions.

The role's key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Maintaining an accurate flight watch of all company aircraft
  • Coordinating the expeditious dispatch of aircraft to minimise delays and client inconvenience
  • Flight planning, coordinating with civil and military Air Traffic Control
  • Managing airport slots, monitoring weather, NOTAM
  • Arranging handling, fuel, PPR and all necessary permits
  • Supporting crew and client HOTAC, transport and catering
  • Monitoring of crew FTL's, ensuring they are operating within limitations at all times
  • Close liaison with engineering to maintain a dynamic flying schedule

The following skills, knowledge and experience are essential:

  • Demonstrable and relevant aviation experience, ideally in an airline operations department at Operations Controller level
  • Excellent communicator and team player, able to build credible trusting relationships both within and outside of own department
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • A good understanding of civilian aircrew/commercial aviation rules and regulations
  • Able to work well under pressure, ensuring a continued attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under own initiative, continually seeking improvements
  • Excellent IT skills, being fully competent with Microsoft Office

This role is offered on a shift basis comprising of four days on four days off.

12 hour shifts across a 24-hour pattern (07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00)
