About the Role:


As an Antiques and Collectables Appraiser at WeBuyVintage, you will be offered a starting salary that is negotiable depending on experience.

You will enjoy a balanced work schedule with a standard 4-day working week.

This is comprised of 36 hours (4 x 9hrs) across either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, with flexible starting and finishing times.


You will be entitled to 26 days holiday per year (inclusive of any bank holidays that fall during your normal working week).

This is 3.6 days above the statutory minimum for a 4-day working week.


Your primary role will be to appraise boxes of vintage, luxury, and antique goods sent to us by customers via the postal system.

You will have an in-depth understanding of Gold and Silver jewellery, with the ability to identify precious metal hallmarks, markings, and stamps.


Furthermore, you will possess at least a hobbyist level knowledge in at least two of the following categories of vintage/luxury goods: Branded handbags, Cameras & Lenses, Medals and Militaria, Fountain Pens, Watches, Silverware, Costume Jewellery, Diamonds, Art or other antiques.

This role demands self-motivation, efficiency, and the ability to learn, retain, and recall product knowledge quickly.


Key Skills Needed:


  • Strong knowledge of Gold and Silver jewellery, including the ability to spot and decipher precious metal hallmarks, markings, and stamps.
  • Familiarity with at least two categories of vintage/luxury goods: Branded handbags, Cameras, Medals and Militaria, Fountain Pens, Watches, Silverware, Costume Jewellery, Diamonds, Art or other antiques.
  • Selfmotivation and ability to learn, retain, and recall product knowledge.
  • Efficiency and speed in appraising items.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively in a small but growing team.
  • Good communication skills for relaying information to phone buyers and customers.
  • Computer literate, especially with CRM systems.

£22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
