Overview of job


At a significant time of growth for podcasts in the UK, we are looking for a brilliant Executive Producer of Comedy and Entertainment to join the Global Podcast team.

You'll be responsible for coordinating a slate of industry leading, commercially successful podcast shows while managing, mentoring and encouraging a team of podcast producers.


This role is for an accomplished producer with a track record of developing highly successful shows with top UK talent.

You will be responsible for managing talent relationships, setting creative standards, and producing brilliantly entertaining podcasts that millions of people want to listen to.

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Understood Global's podcast strategy and how your commissions & original audio productions will work to support it
  • Established and socialised your creative vision, development approach and processes across the team and the business
  • Established positive relationships with talent across our current slate and worked with your network to bring in new projects
  • Built up a pipeline of shows in the Comedy and Entertainment space

Responsibilities of the role:


  • Manage a small team of producers working across comedy and entertainment podcasts
  • Lead all aspects of certain projects in an executive producer capacity and ensure other podcast producers are adhering to Global's strategy and values in the podcast space
  • Develop existing podcasts on the Global slate
  • Develop and create fresh, new podcast formats and ideas with talent and managers/agents which align with Global's podcast strategy.
  • Generate additional short form or social media content that will drive audiences to the podcast
  • Work with internal partners and the podcast project management team to ensure effective production, promotion and marketing of the podcast
  • Work with podcast producers to increase their knowledge around remote and live location recording
  • Brief in campaigns across various parts of the business, working closely with PR, marketing, video and digital content teams to successfully launch new shows
  • Maintain positive relationships with presenters, talent and agents
  • Work with insights and data teams to ensure a datainformed approach to production and creative

What will you need:


  • A strong people manager with interest in coaching teams
  • A high level of creativity and imagination in audio content creation and high proficiency with audio editing software.
  • An excellent track record as an experienced producer of podcasts and/or live radio.
  • A detailed understanding of different recording methods (both studio and live environment) and work with other producers to increase their expertise in these areas
  • Strong talent management skills and the ability to work well to focused briefs and production deadlines.
  • A wide ranging and deep knowledge of the current podcasting world, including an indepth awareness of industry trends and the commercial landscape of podcasting.
  • A detailed understanding of how to promote podcasts effectively and the ability to oversee the creation of additional social media and short form content to help drive audience to the podcast.
