Your Opportunity


As you near the end of your studies at school or college, we know that you have a number of options when thinking about your next step.

To help you make the decision as to whether an apprenticeship might be an option to consider, we have created a 4-week summer internship for those in their penultimate year of study at school or college.


As a summer intern you will gain valuable work experience, have the opportunity to network across our business and experience our inclusive and collaborative culture all while completing a daily role and working on ad-hoc projects during your time with us.

If successful, you will be considered for a role on our Apprenticeship Programme once you complete your studies commencing September 2024.

Our Summer Internship runs over a 4-week period commencing early July 2023.

Assessment centres for this vacancy will be run on the following dates 28th April so please ensure you are provisionally available to attend

The Apprenticeship Programme within the Large and Medium Business Unit (LMBU) division:

The Large and Medium Business Unit (LMBU) is home to a team of 70+ specialists who provide expertise, consultancy, advice and practical support to the biggest Practices in SJP.


LMBU's consultancy approach Is designed to help our Practices, their Partners and staff, to build, protect and manage their businesses.

In this LMBU offer wide-ranging support from acquiring and managing advisers, business development, managing client service, technology support and helping them to hone their operational resilience.

Ultimately our activity Is designed to help our Practices to succeed and grow.

Within the larger LMBU team, the LMBU Business Insights and Improvement team provides three core capabilities that supports these complex business, this role will provide exposure In these three key areas:

  • Management information (MI), Business Intelligence (BI) and Insight
An opportunity to get exposure to data skills Including In Salesforce, Excel and Power BI.

  • Technology and automation

An opportunity to see automation being used within the business, while building an understanding of SQL, Power Query (in Excel) and Robotics Process Automation (using Automation Anywhere).


  • Operations Improvement Consultancy

Gain exposure to improvement methodologies (Systems thinking, and Lean) and how these are used to support operational effectiveness and efficiency.


The role will provide the opportunity to progress a small project, aligned to one of these key areas, enabling the practicing of skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain experience of SJP Partner Practices and how LMBU division supports


  • Exposure to Salesforce

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. The #1 CRM platform In the world
  • Attending and contributing to team meetings, including taking actions and leading a meeting.
  • Attend a divisional meeting to see how the team works within the wider LMBU division
  • Exposure to data skills & reporting within e.g. PowerBI
  • Contributing your Ideas to process Improvement and understanding methods
  • Building an understanding of automation and gaining experience using automation software, such as Automation Anywhere

Requirements of the Job:

Job Knowledge:
No specific prior job knowledge is required, but an interest in data, technology and/or problem solving would be beneficial.

We would expect applicants to be naturally curious and interested in learning about the wide area of improvement within a financial services organisation.

This role provides an opportunity to develop technical skills whilst working within a team that supports our big practices and the wider SJP ecosystem.

There will be the opportunity to work with the LMBU division and our Partner Practices. Training and coaching will be provided for technical skills, and these can be applied to a small project.
