Job Type:PermanentOur ReConnect+ project provides supported accommodation for women leaving prison dealing with substance misuse and with complex needs, many of whom have experienced trauma and abuse in their early lives.


We are currently seeking a part-time Housing Support Assistant to join the ReConnect+ team on a permanent basis, working 28 hours per week.

The Role


As a Housing Support Assistant, you will deliver exceptional support to the ReConnect+ project team at the project location and Head Office Brixton or other locations as required.


  • Specifically, you will support our Customer, Housing, IT and Finance teams, delivering housing support services to the project team and high standards of customer care to all project service users.
  • Additionally, you will:
  • Report maintenance issues for service users and at our locations
  • Help conduct H&S and property checks
  • Field inbound calls and manage the mail
  • Maintain office supplies
  • Assist the team in providing statistical data
  • Liaise with HR regarding personnel matters

About You
To be considered as a Housing Support Assistant, you will need:

  • Customer service experience
  • Experience of developing administration systems
  • Experience working for a nonprofit organisation
  • An understanding of the risk associated with Lone working
  • A good understanding of confidentiality, data protection and professional boundaries
  • Excellent admin skills including an understanding of finance matters and report writing


Experience of working with women involved in the CJS would be beneficial, as would experience of delivering a PIE / trauma-informed support service.

Overall Aim
To provide effective and efficient support Customer, Housing, IT and Finance support to the Haringey Project team


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of housing support services to the project team, ensuring effective reporting to line manager as appropriate
  • Responsible for, high standards of customer care.
  • To act in accordance with the values and aims of Housing for Women
  • To promote and implement Housing for Women's policies and procedures

Key result areas

Housing support:


  • Provide high level of customer care and support to all project service users
  • Support the team in carrying out their Health and Safety and property checks as required
  • Support the team in answering telephones and taking messages
  • Collect, record, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain stationery, stock and office supplies and coordinate maintenance of office equipment
  • Coordinate the reporting of service users and office/communal areas maintenance Repairs with L&Q, other Landlords, or HfW Head office
  • Assist service users in providing access for works
  • Support the team in coordinating statistical returns for commissioners, funders and owning landlords
  • Liaise with the HR department at Head office re absence, annual leave, training etc
  • Support service users by escorting them to appointments and groups or to carry out key tasks like shopping in the community for health, welfare and developing their independence.
  • Support service users to attend regular forums and contribute to the day to day running and development of the project.
  • Support service users in group activities including celebrations of cultural or diversity days.
  • Assist service users to review their accounts and refer any arrears issues to Support workers to resolve
  • Assisting service users in making any calls with Housing benefit/ UC to resolve benefit queries
  • Assisting team to prepare information for Head Office including voids information
  • Assist team with any financial returns
  • Liaise with the finance team at Head Office rega
