We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about workplace inclusion and equality to take a lead role in the development, growth, and expansion of our existing employability service.

We are looking for someone with passion, tenacity, and drive who can develop our offer to become the leading specialist autism employability service in the Tees Valley and beyond.

They will promote paid work for autistic people and establish meaningful and progressive employability-based outcomes for service users.

Salary-£30,000 - £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)


Key Tasks

  • Work with the CEO to develop and implement strategies for the development and growth of Daisy Chains Employability Service.
  • Establish and manage partnership links with a variety of relevant statutory bodies and organisations (including DWP, Job Centre Plus).
  • Actively pursue, generate, and maintain effective and beneficial partnerships with a large network of external stakeholder organisations and businesses in order to create a wide range of external work experience, training, volunteering, and paid work opportunities for autistic adults.
  • Provide bespoke training and support packages to employers, enabling them to become more confident in recruiting, supporting, and retaining autistic employees and providing them with access to a pool of uniquely talented autistic placements and prospective employees.
  • Drive performance and ensure contractual KPIs are met across the department.
  • Manage the Employability team, taking oversite of all activities within the Employability department.
  • Establish an effective system for recording team data in relation to caseloads, support activities, targets, and outcomes and provide data, statistics, and reports to senior management on request.
  • Take a lead role in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults, ensuring that best practice is always adhered to
  • Ensure the success of work placements for both service users and businesses by providing a supported induction and an ongoing, bespoke support package including the delivery of training, resources, support with reasonable adjustments, and specific employability skills guidance (e.g., CV writing, interview skills, communications skills, etc.).

  • To ensure that all data/confidential/sensitive information is handled in an appropriate manner and in line with GDPR.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Daisy Chain brand in all internal and external communications.

  • Maintain a proactive approach to your role and responsibilities along with a commitment to contribute and maintain the positive working ethos within the Charity
  • Ensure attendance at staff meetings.
  • Undertake any training and development deemed necessary for the pursuance of the post.
  • Work in a way that contributes to the continuous improvement of the Charitys services and embraces the organisations quality initiatives.
  • Any other duties from time to time, commensurate with the level of the post.

Experience

  • A track record of working within and/or managing employability focussed services. E, A & I
  • Experience in progressing people into work. E, A & I
  • Experience in working towards and achieving outcome targets within projects, including target monitoring, recording, and reporting. E, A & I
  • Experience in liaising and networking with organisations and businesses to create opportunities for service users. D, A & I
  • Experience of working closely with businesses to successfully induct and support service users to access work placements, volunteering and/or paid work. D, A & I
  • Experience of liaising and linking with organisations, businesses, and statutory bodies (e.g. Job Centre Plus, DWP). E, A & I
  • Experience working vulnerable people seeking employment. E, A & I
  • Experience in line management or overseeing a small team of staff. D, A & I
  • Experience in implementing appropriate safeguarding procedures relating to young people and/or adults. D& I
