Job Description:
ASL Technical are looking for an experienced automotive EDS Engineer to join our customer team on a contract basis.

As an EDS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of the low voltage electrical distribution system (EDS)for their automotive sportscars.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and design the EDS system for high end sportscars.
  • Design delivery of Low voltage harness for all the vehicle electronics EDS technical deliverables (attributes, DVP, DFMEAs, Part Release,) of the project, in accordance with ISO26262 requirements.
  • System/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP etc.)
  • Develop and manage EDS engineering documentation including the bill of material.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure the EDS system meets performance, quality, and cost targets.
  • Create test plans and procedures to validate the EDS system.
  • Conduct testing and analysis to ensure that the EDS system meets all requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues with the EDS system and provide solutions to ensure proper functionality.
  • Program launch engineering and manufacturing support.
  • Support external supplier engagement and governance.
  • Support UK and overseas whole vehicle and component testing.


  • Task tracking

  • Weekly program status report.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Automotive Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in developing low voltage electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and experience with EDS development.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Rates quoted are PAYE and come with additonal holiday pay, contractor benefits package and pension in line with legislation. Due tothe inside IR35 nature, Umbrella contracts are also available.
