Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The department has a student orientated culture and puts students' needs at the heart of everything it does.


We are seeking an enthusiastic Youth Worker to work as a member of the Student Support Services Team, to contribute to a wide and varied Enrichment programme.

This role will include co-leading and delivery of a range of activities to students, as part of our Safeguarding and Early Intervention strategy.

The Youth Worker will contribute to the wider service where required, with a focus on supporting students facing challenges and barriers to educational success.

Engaging students in social spaces within college, including our Enrichment Hub, you will be proficient in delivering personal development activities which support positive behaviour and attitude amongst students.


We're looking for someone who is qualified to Level 3 or above in Youth & Community or another relevant discipline, and who has experience of working with and delivering activities to young people, predominantly aged 16-18, from a variety of backgrounds.

With an understanding of the needs and issues surrounding them and the difficulties students face, you'll positively engage with young people and work with them to improve behaviour, skills and confidence in challenging situations.


Able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, you'll have the ability to build rapport with a wide range of customers and liaise with external agencies.

You'll demonstrate the ability and have experience of delivering student workshops/presentations or tutorials, and be able to lead on the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to support and enhance the student experience.


  • Although primarily based at Kingston College, you may be required to travel to or work from any of the South Thames Colleges Group sites._
