Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Respiratory Senior Clinical Fellow.


The clinical duties of this post will be based predominantly at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH); with cross site working including sessions at Wansbeck General Hospital (WGH), North Tyneside General Hospital (NTGH) and Hexham General Hospital (HGH).

You will be encouraged over the course of the year to develop your skills at SpR level.

You will participate in the provision of outpatient services and Respiratory procedures as well as taking a role in the current Fellow Rota covering 7 days per week at NSECH.


The post will be based at NSECH with outpatient and diagnostic commitments Trustwide; as such the post holder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.


The post will be flexibly time-tabled to meet the demands of the service and the timing of sessions may change as the service develops.

A typical week would consist of 10 Programmed Activities (PA's);
Inpatient care on the Respiratory wards at NSECH

Respiratory clinics at NTGH, WGH and HGH


Admin and audit:
Regional teaching plus monthly SpR teaching

Opportunity to attend Bronchoscopy and EBUS and Thoracoscopy.

Contribution to the Respiratory Fellow rota.


Opportunities for personal development will be supported and encouraged - support will be available from an allocated Educational Supervisor from within the Consultant Respiratory Physician Team.


We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.

We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres.

You will be employed on Specialty Doctor TCS.


Minimum criteria includes:

4 years post graduate experience, 2 of which must be in this speciality

Full UK GMC registration


MRCP
