Key Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain forward planning diaries and highlight major events
- Key logistics lead on visas, travel, accommodation, and accreditation for future deployments
- Help come up with coverage plans for events
- Clearly communicate with executive producers and desk editors and liaise with producers and reporters on coverage plans
- Help maintain relationships with freelance staff and stringers
- Help develop contacts with relevant organizations and guests for long term planning
- Help initiate ideas around creative series including package ideas and guest
Qualifications:
Skills and Experience
- Prior experience working in a planning role on the news desk of a leading national or international TV news organization
- Strong news judgment, thorough knowledge of world affairs and current events, geopolitics, foreign policy and history
- Capacity to multitask and work in a fastpaced and demanding live news environment
- Ability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues
- Excellent communication skills & professional conduct, especially in highpressure & stressful situations
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy
- Minimum 4 years' higher education journalism qualification or equivalent
- Fluency in English essential, 2nd language appreciated
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Must be willing to work in London, UK
