Description

Fantastic challenges. Amazing opportunities.

GKN Aerospace is reimagining air travel: going further, faster and greener Fuelled by great people whose expertise and creativity sets the standards in our industry, we're inspired by the opportunities to innovate and break boundaries.

We're proud to play a part in protecting the world's democracies. And we're committed to putting sustainability at the centre of everything we do, opening up and protecting our planet.

With over 15,000 employees across 38 manufacturing sites in 12 countries we serve over 90% of the world's aircraft and engine manufacturers.

There are no limits to where you can take your career.

The Opportunity:

GKN Aerospace is the original aerospace innovator. For decades, GKN Aerospace technologies have inspired and industrialized the aerospace industry, combining engineering excellence and technology leadership. Our aerostructures, engine systems and special products improve the performance of more than 100,000 flights every day.

By working closely together with universities, knowledge institutes, suppliers and customers, we lead the industry in developing new technology to improve aircraft efficiency:
lowering aircraft cost, weight and emissions.

Together as "one GKN" we're moving our business and industry forward developing technologies that rapidly decarbonise aircraft, and innovating to help build a new generation of planes that produce zero emissions.

We're putting sustainability at the heart of what we do; driving our objective to becoming a net zero greenhouse gas emissions business before 2050

For the fourth and consecutive year we have a number of exciting internship opportunities based at our £32M state-of-the-art Global Technology Centre in Bristol. Fuel your passion in making things fly by joining us at the cutting edge of the aviation industry and discover the future possibilities that await you.

The Project:

Our world class H2GEAR team of 50 lead the technology development and manage the system level integration at both aircraft level and main aircraft system level for the powertrain definition.

The scope of the system starts with Liquid Hydrogen storage through to the electric motor for propulsion with the benefits of the novel electrical network stretching the performance to as yet, unrealised levels.

What You'll Be Doing:

During your placement you will be working as part of a dynamic global engineering team, giving you the opportunity to experience different cultures and work with a diverse range of people.
