About the role:


We are looking for a personable and approachable Dispensing Team Lead (Cold Chain) to join our warehouse team in Canning Town, East London.

The Cold Chain Team Lead's primary responsibility entails managing daily operations within the cold chain workflows. This role involves overseeing and directing the team across weekday, weekend, and evening shifts. Organising tasks to ensure timely and efficient order processing following SLA agreements is a key aspect. Effectively scheduling labour, facilitating communication, and delegating tasks to foster cohesive teamwork are crucial responsibilities.

Additionally, the Team Lead is accountable for supervising the team and undertaking strategic activities aimed at maximising profitability and realising business potential.


What you can expect to do in the role:
Staff & People Management

  • Manage staff rota for dispatch and nondispatch activities, adhering to budget and targets.
  • Arrange temporary cover for holidays, sicknesses, and seasonal demands to maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Ensure all staff and temporary workers have read and signed the SOPs.
  • Ensure new hires and temps complete required training.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure accurate HR records in Bamboo.
  • Communicate clearly with teams to clarify duties and responsibilities.
  • Promptly resolve issues and escalate to the Responsible Pharmacist and Site Manager when necessary.
  • Conduct 11 and performance reviews with direct reports.
  • Verify and approve invoice details for agencies, locums, and contractors, and relay staff overtime to HR.
Operations

  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to evaluate processes and implement changes for efficiency.
  • Partner with the Site Manager to analyse reasons for returns and devise strategies for reduction.
  • Work with the Site Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with delivery service providers to optimise collection times and volumes.
  • Establish productivity targets for staff and evaluate performance accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Warehouse Coordinators to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Act as a keyholder responsible for pharmacy lockup and opening.
  • Liaise with the Data Team to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Conduct monitoring and schedule preventive maintenance for equipment, plant, and facilities.
Regulatory Requirements

  • Communicate protocols and standards from the Responsible Pharmacist, Site Manager, and Superintendent Pharmacist to the team.
  • Emphasise quality targets and strive for zero errors.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to pinpoint potential risks in dispensing processes and propose solutions for mitigation.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Completion of the NVQ level 2 dispensing course.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise effectively.
  • Able to thrive under deadlines and deliver results.
  • Proficient in Excel for report creation and datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Display strong leadership and team motivation abilities.
  • Clear and concise communication, problemsolving and time management skills.
  • An understanding of the business rationale and the ability to initiate and implement decisions that will achieve business goals and objectives.
