An independent, not-for-profit company in Berkshire is looking for a Part Time Independent Reviewing Officer and Child Protection Chair to join their Quality Assurance Service.
This is a Part Time Locum Social Work role.
To meet requirements of the Child Protection Conferencing and Looked After Reviewing processes in compliance with legislation, guidance and internal policies and procedures and to lead on specialist and quality assurance aspects of the safeguarding process for children in need and in care, in order to ensure that these functions are implemented effectively and to fulfil statutory duties.

Your responsibilities as an IRO/CP Chair:
- Experience as a manager within a statutory children's social care service.
- Extensive experience of chairing strategy meetings and other complex meetings, in order to achieve improved outcomes for children.
- Commitment to contributing to the development of high performing children's services.
- Ability to maintain outcome focussed management strategies and interventions to ensure that children and young people in Reading are safeguarded.
- Demonstrable ability to assess and analyse complex cases, and to communicate this effectively, in verbal and written forms, including providing reports to the LSCB.
- To lead with authority, to ensure that there is a focus on the protection of children and a fair and reasonable analysis of the risk presented by people working with children.
- Ability to work across organisational and multiagency boundaries to influence, develop and deliver effective services.
- Skills and abilities to lead a team of staff including the development and maintenance of clear performance and quality standards.
Requirements of you as an IRO/CP Chair:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
- A valid Social Work England registration
- Have competent knowledge and experience of Management, QA, IRO, CP Chair
- A valid UK driving licence and car is essential to this role
Location: Berkshire
Umbrella pay rate:
£43.00 per hour
