Role Overview:
Basinghall Clinic is the Cromwell Hospital's outpatient diagnostic centre located in the heart of the city.

The Clinic provides a range of services led by consultants, who are highly experienced and specialise in areas including Orthopaedics, Sports and Exercise Management, Physiotherapy, Gynaecology, Urology, Respiratory, Cardiology, Osteopathy and Mammography.


The post holder will be based in the Mammography Department at Basinghall Clinic, and will work closely with the Clinic Manager, General X-ray & CT Superintendent, Divisional Manager, Cromwell Lead Mammographer and Development team to maintain and enhance the Breast imaging service at Basinghall Clinic, as well as our screening mammography service.


What you'll do:

  • Responsibility for the daily management of the Mammography Service in liaison with the Superintendent Radiographers. Organising the daily work programme to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
  • Work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns of the Mammography/Breast service.
- keep up to date with developments in Breast imaging.

  • Perform high quality examinations as required by referring physicians according to departmental policies and procedures. Ensuring that all patients being imaged receive a high standard of care.
  • Accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.
  • Ensure all equipment within the department is cared for and maintained, ensuring that cleanliness is upheld and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.
  • Ensure that monitoring standards provide a high quality service for patient care, technical performance and reporting.
  • To ensure that there is a robust Quality Assurance programme for equipment and Radiation Protection. To maintain accurate records and report problems to the Radiation Supervisor or the head of department.
  • Undertake clinical audits already in place, or set up new audits, in line with guidance.
  • To be fully conversant with the Radiology Management System, and the computerised method of patient and examination documentation.
  • Ensure that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systemsare maintained and developed.
  • To undertake to do any tasks as designated by the Directorate Manager/Superintendent Radiographer.

What you'll bring:

  • BSc or DCR in Radiography
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography
  • Good Standard of General Education
  • Computer Literate
  • Substantial Mammography Experience (minimum of 3 years) including Biopsy experience
