The Role:
Hands-on management position that has direct influence on the branch, performance and results of the Manchester Branch. This position will manage and oversee our operations and personnel.
You will be responsible for the successful operation and managementof the branch and ensure a high standard of customer service is achieved.
In addition, you will maintain a standard of prompt and efficient freight movement and ensure that all data entry is accurately recorded both manually and via the clients system accordingto company and industry regulations and standards.
Products include general import and export, security screening, handling operations, road operations and 3PL. You will set budgets accordingly with the Vice President to ensure that revenue and profit goalsare consistently met.You will conduct regular customer calls to develop and improve customer relations and performance and gain new business in cooperation with the Service and Sales team.
By providing leadership and maintaining a level of professional behaviour.Min 5 years relevant experience in Freight Forwarding
Main Duties:
Responsible for the management of the Site including customer service levels, warehouse operation and Security arrangements
Build and maintain effective working relationships with the customer base within the surrounding areas
Ensure that the branch is fully compliant with all Security and Health and Safety requirements & regulations
Actively seek to improve processes and control costs within site
Responsible for all staff training, appraisals, absence management, recruitment, investigations, and disciplinary action as appropriate
Ensure the building is presented to a high standard of house keeping
Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard
Report any incidents or accidents in line with company policy
Ensure all jobs are invoiced and costed accurately on a weekly basis.
Qualifications
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively
Ensure operational Compliance with all Safety/Security & Customs requirements for office
In-depth knowledge of Air Cargo Industry, including pricing, sales and administration procedures
Proven verbal and written skills
Possess confidence in presenting information to key stakeholders
Ability to work with an operating budget
Effective decision maker
Ability to motivate and drive a successful team
Ability to plan and prioritise tasks
Ability to deliver results
High degree of initiative and self sufficiency
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be proactive and forward thinking
Level CM security certificate desirable (training will be provided)
