This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the expanding Liaison and Diversion Service in Cheshire.

This post will increase the capacity of the Liaison and Diversion service team to respond to individuals that enter the criminal justice system, with a focus on engagement and support.


This role will include:


Work as part of a team with the freedom to work independently, particularly in relation to providing advice to service users, carers, and professionals who contact the service.

Work with service users in conjunction with other professionals, to devise and implement effective individualised programmes of support.

Liaise with other agencies as required dependant on the person's presentation, work closely with other agencies


Main Duties of job:
Work within limitations and escalate to Practitioner as appropriate.

To support Practitioners, STR Workers and Lived Experience workers and Admin as necessary.

Provide a community outreach service within Cheshire.


Work as part of a team with the freedom to work independently, particularly in relation to providing advice to service users, carers, and professionals who contact the service.

Work with service users in conjunction with other professionals, to devise and implement effective individualised programmes of support.


Liaise with other agencies as required dependant on the person's presentation, work closely with other Health Care Professionals, and community agencies.

Actively promote the service to external agencies as a positive example of user led services.

In summary:


Working closely with the multi-agency Health & Justice team, you will receive referrals for individuals in the Health & Justice population and you will.


  • Work as part of the outreach team.
  • Assess service users' individual needs.
  • Engage with service users and their families.
  • Offer liaison, jointworking and referrals to other relevant services.
  • Independently undertake face to face and electronic screening to support the identification of multiple vulnerabilities of people who have been in contact with the criminal justice system or immigration centre, such as police custody, courts, and community settings. Working to guidelines.
  • Work within limitations and escalate to Practitioners as appropriate.
  • To support Practitioners, STR Workers and Lived Experience workers and Admin as necessary.
