Kennel Assistant

Responsibilities:

Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel
Clean and sanitize kennel areas, including cages, bedding, and common areas
Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
Exercise and play with animals to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing
Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report to veterinary staff
Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and any observed changes in behavior or health

Requirements:

Previous experience working with animals in a kennel or similar environment is preferred
Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
