Overview:


As the Rating and Tariff Coordinator at GB Railfreight, you will play a crucial role in managing all rating aspects for customers, ensuring competitive pricing is offered and recorded accurately.

Your primary responsibility is to record all customers rates and keep multiple systems up to date, preventing financial discrepancies and customers queries.

Further to this, you will become a key contact for all customers when it comes to rating and ensuring all customers have the most up to date tariffs and services to hand, helping GB Railfreight grow our share of business within the intermodal spot market.

Responsibilities:


  • Retaining and expanding existing and potential opportunities.
  • Regular verbal communication to customers.
  • Send ongoing communications to all customers regarding business changes, such as rates, tariff packs, and services.
  • To support the Business Development Manager and Intermodal finance team to ensure all rates and any financial variables are kept up to date.
  • Analyse and report on rating/market trends for distribution to the wider Intermodal team.
  • To support with the planning and maximisation of container movements on GB spot Intermodal services.
  • Record and maintain up to date tariffs/automating tariffs and communicate corresponding information to financial team.
  • Alongside the Business Development Manager, quoting and converting quotations into bookings. Recording and analysing spot sale conversions.
  • Working closely with the Intermodal team to prevent or be proactive to mitigate the impact of any operational issues
  • To optimise the performance and maximise the profitability by active phone and face to face liaison with customers, clients, and associated suppliers.
  • Ensure all prices and any financial variables are kept up to date. Ensuring correct billing within the correct timescales.
  • Support Accounts Department chasing aged debtors whilst resolving and keeping unbilled revenue down.
  • Suggest operational changes to minimise unnecessary credits to the Service Execution Manager.

Qualifications:
GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C or Grade 4 above (or equivalent)

Customer Service Experience is essential

Rail or Logistics container traffic management

Commercial acumen

Knowledge of Railway operations

Account or Contract Management experience is desirable

Software systems:
SCORPIO, TOPS, COMA and Destin8, CRM system

Intermediate Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent English, written and verbal skills
