XEIAD, part of the BES Group are recruiting for a Commercial Assistant.


We pride ourselves on supporting the end to end management of a range of civil engineering assets, helping asset owners and managers keep critical infrastructure safe, reduce risk and maintenance costs as well as extend asset life.


The role:


As a Commercial Assistant reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting daily commercial operations for assigned contracts.

This includes managing contracts for various infrastructure projects across different regions.

What you will be doing:


  • Assist in the commercial management of assigned contracts, ensuring adherence to cost control processes.
  • Accurately record contract revenue and costs, and ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Support the Application for Payment and Invoicing processes, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Monitor project fees against client purchase order values and escalate issues as needed.
  • Facilitate supplier works order processes and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Support supplier onboarding processes in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Assist in cost allocation and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, and contribute to the development of commercial skills within the team.
  • Engage with clients and suppliers professionally, fostering strong relationships and promoting best practices.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to manage client relationships effectively.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate/Student Member of relevant Institution (e.g. RICS) (desirable)
  • UK Driving licence
  • Experience in a Commercial position
  • Supporting the commercial management of contracts with a minimum £1m commercial responsibility
  • Working knowledge of NR4 and NR3 contracts(desirable)
  • Working knowledge of NEC3/4 contracts(desirable)
  • Experience of Applications for Payment, Client Works Instructions and Change Control
  • Experience of Supply Chain management including instruction of Works Orders and MS Office proficiency
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Communication skillsverbal and written
  • Peoplemanagement skills
