Description
The Financial Times is hiring a Whitehall Editor, based in Westminster and working in the political team.

The position would suit an experienced journalist with a proven record of delivering scoops and working on investigations. They should be a good team player capable of delivering in a highly competitive news environment.


Key duties:


  • The Whitehall editor is a full member of the Westminster team, led by George Parker, Political Editor, but with a special remit to dig into the story behind the stories that dominate the political agenda
  • Covering the Conservative party, including donors and the campaign machine, as the party gears up for the next election
  • Building up a relationship with senior civil servants and unearthing the stories the politicians would like to keep quiet
  • Ability to work across all FT platforms including audio and video

Who we are looking for:


Although they will be a self-starter with a talent for going deep into stories, they will also be an excellent team player within the Westminster office, which operates in a pressurised but enjoyable work environment.
