An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager within a well-established and successful Manufacturing Business.


The main purpose of this role will be to develop and manage the team to ensure the success of all operating practises and to support Improvement, quality and growth.

Working for a high end, luxury product and brand, this is a great opportunity to establishexcellent working relationships and lead the business further success.


Main Duties:


  • To develop, plan and execute the operational strategies to improve on productivity and performance within the business.
  • To lead, develop and motivate all direct reports by mentoring and coaching.
  • To Lead and support the management team.
  • Capability planning to optimise productivity and efficiency.
  • To assist with financial budgeting to include Capital, Volume and all overhead and yield.
  • Take responsibility for performance management, including absence levels.
  • Ensure the correct procedures are followed.
  • To lead reward and recognition within your department.
  • Ensure the delivery and success of KPI's.
  • To work with quality to ensure all standards are met within design, budget and deadlines.
  • Working closely with Health, Safety and Environmental to ensure all requirements are met and to a high standard.
  • Build relationships with HR, Quality, CI, Planning and production.
  • To lead and direct Continuous Improvement within the production process.
  • Responsible for all aspects of training and development inclusive of, SOP's, Succession planning, developing training plans, role related training ensuring capability maintained and flexibility is increased.
  • Maximise effective use of plant and equipment; preventative maintenance, Contractor management, Capital expenditure proposals for repair and upgrade.
  • To cover the Operations Director when absent from the business.
  • Work to KPI's which include; Unit production cost per operative, productivity, output to plan and quality standards. Capital and overhead expenditures, controlling the overall cost of quality, waste and training requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Ideally a HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Diploma in Management
  • IOSH H&S Management
  • Six Sigma Black belt
  • Previous Management experience within Manufacturing
